Petrified wood mineral stones are actually fossils. They are woody stems of plants that are buried by sediments, protecting them from decay. Overtime, they are replaced by silica, calcite and pyrite. Usually details of the woody bark of the original plants, the cellular structures may be preserved along, forming unique inclusions in them.

This pair of petrified wood moss stones are nearly colourless with beautiful unique inclusions in yellow tones. They are suspended on a pair of hand beaded ear posts made with Miyuki beads and blue sand stone and iolite seed beads. Earposts are 18k gold plated.
