MORE ABOUT EUN

This collection is made with mainly 999 silver, also known as fine silver. Focal pieces are hand crafted with precious silver metal clay.

These pieces are also at times accented or paired with mineral stones or crystals to add glitz and colour. Other materials used in this collection include stainless steel findings and chains which are durable and easy to maintain and they are perfect complements with the silver pieces at reasonable costs.

Fine silver does not tarnish easily as it consists of 99.9% pure silver. 999 silver is usually too soft for jewelry making but precious metal clay has made it possible though the process does take time and patience.

I have always wanted to craft my own precious metal pieces and precious metal clay is a wonderful medium to work with.

Unlike other clay I have worked with, once fired, these silver pieces are durable and sustainable as they are made with recycled silver.

About the Medium

Silver Metal Clay is a medium used for silver jewellery pieces and other petite art sculpture pieces. It is an eco-friendly material made with recycled silver, made in Japan.

Silver Metal clay is made with fine silver particles mixed with water and an organic binder, into malleable clay form, very similar to polymer clay except it does not contain any clay. Its just pure metal particles with water and binder.

The organic binder is in fact Methyl Cellulose made from the cell walls of green plants. It's an organic ingredient used in food additives and is non-allergic, non-toxic and perfectly safe to work with.

When dried, silver metal clay pieces are then fired at high temperatures where the water and binder within are burnt away, leaving behind a solid, fine silver piece which is 99.9% pure silver.
